BAFTA Games Awards 2026 Longlists: Unveiled and Expanded
London hosted the reveal of the longlists for the BAFTA Games Awards 2026, highlighting 64 titles across 17 categories. More than 1,700 BAFTA members contributed ratings, with the awards tracing their roots back to 2004 to celebrate exceptional creativity and the people behind video games.
Tara Saunders, chair of BAFTA’s Games committee, noted that the longlists spotlight the artistry and craftsmanship shaping this year’s releases. She emphasized that the list acknowledges the wide range of standout work recognized by BAFTA’s global network of industry professionals, whose expertise helps push the medium forward. The longlists also serve as a guide for readers to discover notable titles during the upcoming holiday season and pay tribute to the teams responsible for these achievements, while shining a light on the industry’s broad skillset.
A total of 255 games were considered by BAFTA members, with releases spanning from November 16, 2024, to November 14, 2025. BAFTA indicated that nominations for the Best Game and British Game categories will be determined in February 2026 by member voting, while specialist juries will decide the remaining categories. The winners will be announced at the BAFTA Games Awards ceremony on April 17. The full longlists are provided below.
