Two Women Narrowly Survive a Savage Gun Attack

What happened was a sudden burst of gunfire that sent residents scrambling. The two women, who were simply walking nearby, had no opportunity to seek cover and were hit as the exchange unfolded. They were rushed to medical care for their injuries.
A witness spoke with Daily Sun, noting that the deceased man had previously survived a violent attack just two months earlier. He had endured serious injuries then and spent weeks recovering in hospital. This time, however, the assailants finished him, and the two innocent bystanders were injured while they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
A nearby street vendor described how the victim often moved about with friends, hinting that he may have anticipated danger surrounding him. The vendor’s view echoes a common sentiment in the community: those involved knew the risks, while passersby like the two women did not.
The scene was chaotic, with bystanders rushing to help as the injured women lay bleeding and others searched for ways to assist. Some residents managed to transport the women to medical facilities in private vehicles before emergency responders arrived.
Police officials confirmed the investigation and emphasized that two serious cases are being pursued. Western Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg stated that murder and attempted murder inquiries have been opened for the 14 December 2025 incident in Boesak Street, with a 20-year-old man fatally wounded and two women aged 27 and 28 wounded.
Twigg added that responders found the man on-site with gunshot wounds and that he was pronounced dead by medical staff. The two women were transported to hospital in a private car. He described the inquiry as ongoing and noted that no arrests had been made yet as the circumstances remain under investigation.
The shooting has rekindled concerns about gun violence in the area, prompting calls for greater police visibility and quicker arrests to restore a sense of safety among residents.
