Northeast Ohio Power Outages: FirstEnergy Updates and Weather Alerts (2026)

CLEVELAND (WJW) — As the winds continue to sweep across Northeast Ohio, a significant number of residents are experiencing a much-welcomed restoration of their power this Thursday evening, according to FirstEnergy's online outage tracker. By 5:40 PM, approximately 8,000 customers in Lorain County were still without electricity, a notable decrease from about 13,000 just twenty minutes earlier. Remarkably, by 6 PM, only 100 customers remained without power.

In Cuyahoga County, around 80 customers were reported to be experiencing outages as well. However, Cleveland Public Power has not indicated any outages at this time on Thursday.

According to meteorologists from FOX 8, significant changes in weather patterns are expected to impact Northeast Ohio overnight. The National Weather Service has also put out a wind advisory for several western counties, which is in effect until 10 PM.

Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving situation.
