DOH ISSUES PUBLIC NOTICE ON MediNatura New Mexico’s ReBOOST NASAL SPRAY OVER YEAST/MOLD AND MICROBIAL CONTAMINATION RISKS

HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i Department of Health (DOH) Food and Drug Branch (FDB) is issuing a public alert about a recall from MediNatura New Mexico, Inc. for its ReBoost Nasal Spray. The recall stems from concerns about potential contamination by yeast, mold, and other microbes, with one organism identified as Achromobacter, found at levels above the product’s specifications.
The affected product was distributed across the United States, including Hawaii retailers such as Foodland, and was also sold directly to consumers via the MediNatura website (medinatura.com). The FDB is coordinating with local retailers to remove the recalled item from shelves and prevent further sales. Details of the recalled product are as follows:

Contaminants in nasal sprays can pose health risks, especially for individuals with weakened immune systems. At this time, there have been no reported adverse events linked to this recall.
The FDB urges consumers to confirm whether they have the recalled product and to stop using it immediately. If you purchased the product directly from MediNatura New Mexico, Inc., you may request a refund by emailing the provided address. Those who bought the item at a local store can return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
